Kidney Treatment Centre

Kidney Treatment Centre

Urology is a surgical specialty, covering the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs. We offer services to patients from Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham as well as further a field for some of our specialist activities.

Our service is based in a state-of-the-art urology centre at Guy's Hospital, where most of our clinical activities take place.

 Our urology centre

Our award-winning urology centre at Guy's has allowed us to minimize queuing and bring all the aspects of urological diagnosis together in one place.

The development of the multi-million pound urology centre was supported by a grant from Guy's and St Thomas' Charity. We have been visited by 26 different urology units to see how our clinics run and have won 3 awards for the centre.

Our one-stop clinics

All newly-referred patients to the urology centre are assessed at one of our weekly one-stop clinics, where they can have a range of investigations at the same time, if necessary.

One-stop clinics allow patients to have a consultation with a urologist and a range of investigations in a single visit. At the end of their visit, most patients will have received a diagnosis and their treatment options will have been discussed. Those who need to be admitted for surgery meet our admissions officer before leaving the centre.
