Introduction:

Work has begun on a new $75 million rehabilitation tower at Winchester Medical Centre (WMC), marking a significant step in the partnership between Valley Health and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation. The project is set to improve access to specialist rehabilitation services across the region.

Features:

The new facility will provide acute inpatient rehabilitation, along with outpatient services including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. It will also feature advanced orthotics, prosthetics, and bionic care.

Services currently delivered at the Cork Street centre, including adult inpatient rehabilitation and children’s outpatient therapy, will move to the new tower.

Rehabilitation services offered at the Valley Health Wellness Centre will also be relocated, bringing all therapy and rehabilitation support under one roof.

The opening of the new facility is expected in 2026.
