Introduction:

Henry Ford Health has begun construction on its $2.2 billion Detroit campus expansion, Destination: Grand, the largest healthcare investment in the city's history.

Features:

The project will feature a 75,000-square-foot expanded emergency department with 100 private treatment spaces. The new tower will include 432 private patient rooms, equipped with touchscreen televisions, voice activation, and dedicated visitor spaces.

The 28 new operating rooms will support complex surgeries, from transplants to brain surgery. Five floors of specialized ICU rooms will focus on areas such as cardiovascular and neurological care.

Additionally, a 185,000-square-foot shared services building, a 1,500-space parking garage, and a 46,000-square-foot Central Energy Hub will be included.

The facility is expected to open in 2029.
