Introduction:

Inova has officially commenced construction on its two new, state-of-the-art hospitals—Inova Alexandria and Inova Franconia-Springfield—representing a major step forward in enhancing access and improving the healthcare experience in Northern Virginia.

Features:

The new Inova Alexandria Campus will serve as the cornerstone of the redevelopment of the former Landmark Mall site, ensuring that the world-class care Alexandrians have come to expect continues. Designed to meet community needs for many years ahead, this facility will feature 192 beds in fully private rooms and will provide expanded services, including advanced cardiac and neurosciences care, comprehensive women’s health services, and specialised cancer care, all within a modern, patient-focused environment.

The Inova Franconia-Springfield Campus will bring inpatient care closer to the community, offering residents of Fairfax County and neighbouring areas convenient access to a wider array of top-quality healthcare services. This 110-bed facility will include advanced emergency care, surgical services, and specialised inpatient care, with a strong emphasis on community health and wellness.

Both campuses are designed by Ballinger and Ennead Architects, with construction led by Clark Construction for Inova Alexandria and DPR Construction for Inova Franconia-Springfield. The projects are expected to be completed by 2028.
