Introduction

Essentia Health leaders, staff and project partners recently broke ground on a new emergency department at Essentia Health-Fosston, launching a $12 million construction project aimed at enhancing patient experience and strengthening healthcare services for the Fosston community.

Features

The new emergency department will expand the facility by more than 5,500 square feet and is designed to provide a safer, more private and patient-friendly environment for patients, staff and visitors. The project will also include dedicated rooms for behavioral health patients and a new ambulance bay.

Essentia Health-Fosston currently provides 24/7 emergency services, walk-in care six days a week and same-day primary care access. The hospital also offers more than 20 specialty services tailored to the healthcare needs of the local community.

Kraus-Anderson is partnering with Essentia Health on the emergency department expansion project, which is focused on improving patient care, supporting healthcare staff and enhancing access to critical medical services across the region.

Construction of the new emergency department is expected to be completed by summer 2027.
