The World Health Organization includes the cardiovascular compound developed by the Spanish National Cardiovascular Research Center and Ferrer in its list of essential medicines

The cardiovascular combination developed by the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) and Ferrer has been included in the World Health Organization (WHO) List of Essential Medicines1.
This cardiovascular combination contains three active ingredients (acetylsalicylic acid, ramipril and atorvastatin) and has been shown to be effective in preventing cardiovascular problems after a heart attack, reducing death from cardiovascular causes to rate decreased by 33%. This was demonstrated in the SECURE 2 study, the results of which were published in the New England Journal of Medicine 3 (NEJM) in August 2022 .
