HMA 2022 returns with physical conference in Bangkok from September 6-8

3 August 2022

Digitalisation, digital transformation, healthtech – these are all keywords frequently used in the healthcare industry today, especially in the wake of the pandemic which drove the growth of telehealth, data analytics and other digital technologies. This is coupled with the rapid development and growing usage of solutions such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, and big data amongst healthcare providers.

However, the digitalisation journey is not a straightforward one. There is always the danger of digitalising for the sake of doing so, and other challenges arise during and after going digital. How should hospitals go digital in the right way – leveraging on digital technology to successfully provide better care, enhance experience, and improve efficiency?

This year, Hospital Management Asia (HMA)’s annual flagship conference will delve into exactly that. With the theme of “Digitalisation in the right perspective”, hospital and healthcare leaders from across the region will come together to share their experience and insights into the digital healthcare revolution.

To be held from 6 to 8 September 2022,at CentaraGrand in Bangkok, Thailand, HMA 2022 marks the first physical HMA conference since the 2019 edition in Vietnam.

HMA is closely partnering the Ministry of Public Health Thailand on this event. H. E. Dr SatitPitutecha, Deputy Minister of Public Health will be delivering the opening remarks, and Dr AnantKanoksilp, Director of Information Communication Technology at the ministry will be the keynote speaker on the second day.

Attendees can look forward to concurrent panel discussions throughout the day, across three main tracks: Quality & Safety, Patient Experience and Talent Management. Each track will feature panel discussions dedicated to the role of digitalisation in that area.

Up to eight sessions are planned under the Quality & Safety track, with digitalisation trends such as robotic process automation (RPA) and digital quality management tools being some of the focus areas. Not forgotten are perennial topics including process redesign, value-based care, clinical decision support, medication errors and quality accreditation, all topof mind topics for hospital and healthcare quality professionals.

Patient experience has been transformed with the growth in telehealth and other digital touchpoints in the patient journey. Speakers at HMA 2022 will discuss these and also look ahead to how patient experience will look like in the next decade, and how hospitals should plan an end-to-end patient experience.

As for talent and staff management in hospitals, digital has also made a big impact in terms of offering remote work options, especially after the pandemic. We have invited hospital HR leaders to sharehow the pandemic has changed HR practices – from staff engagement, welfare, to the need to build an agile workforce.
