Early bird registration open for IHF World Hospital Congress 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland
2 April 2025
The International Hospital Federation (IHF) has opened Early Bird registration for the 48th World Hospital Congress. With the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG) and the Canton serving as host, this global event will take place from 10 to 13 November 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Registration is now open for the 48th IHF World Hospital Congress, taking place on 10–13 November at the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG), Switzerland. Discounted rates for Early Bird registration are now on offer and will be available for bookings until 15 August.
In collaboration with the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG), the IHF World Hospital Congress is being organized in Geneva for the first time in its history in 2025. Following the success of the 2024 edition (which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), participation at this year’s event is expected to attract around 1500 attendees from over 80 countries and territories.
The IHF World Hospital Congress connects healthcare leaders and executives from around the world to share best practice and innovation in service delivery to improve health outcomes worldwide. The Congress is the flagship event of the IHF, whose mission is to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and enhancement of leadership competencies to strengthen hospital administration and quality of care, as well as to reduce the impact on the environment.
Marking the opening of registration, Dr Muna A. Tahlak, President of the IHF, and CEO of Latifa Women and Children Hospital and Chief Medical Officer of the Dubai Academic Health Corporation said:
“The World Hospital Congress provides a forum to advance healthcare leadership and to inspire each other to deliver for the communities we serve. This year, the IHF received a record-breaking total of more than 1200 abstract submissions from 61 countries and territories. Each abstract represents the commitment of healthcare professionals worldwide to exchange good practice and grow as leaders for the benefit of patient care. We are building an exceptional scientific programme and look forward to connecting with healthcare leaders worldwide to address common challenges and share ideas for a brighter future.”
Robert Mardini, Director General of the HUG, expressed anticipation about the transformational power of the global exchange between leaders:
“It is the spirit of innovation, excellence and international collaboration that drives our healthcare sector forward. Under the theme ‘Global learning, local action for every patient’ we will push boundaries, explore fresh perspectives, and deliver insights that challenge, and inspire new thinking. This is not just about where healthcare is in 2025, but where we want to be headed. Be prepared to engage, challenge, and to be inspired. We can’t wait to welcome you to Geneva!”
Complementing a rigorous scientific programme, this year’s Congress will include activities showcasing healthcare innovations at the i-to-i Innovation Hub, as well as masterclasses and workshops with the Geneva Sustainability Centre to support healthcare leaders to build resilience through advancing sustainability. A special IHF Awards Gala event on 12 November will mark the 10th anniversary of the Awards programme, celebrating a decade of recognizing excellence in hospital and healthcare leadership. Extending the learning in the main scientific sessions, visits to hospitals and a selection of international institutions on 10 and 14 November are also available for participants of the Congress to book.
Early bird rates are offered until 15 August 2025. Visit www.worldhospitalcongress to register. Discounts are available for registrants coming from low and lower-middle-income countries, students, and groups of 5 or more. Special rates also apply to delegates from Geneva-based international organizations, NGOs, and Missions.
