Vivos Therapeutics Secures CPT? Codes for Coverage and Reimbursement of All Vivos CARE Oral Devices from the American Medical Association

9 October 2024

Vivos Therapeutics, a medical technology company focused on developing treatments for sleep-related breathing disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), has announced the introduction of new Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes by the American Medical Association (AMA).

These new codes, effective from January 1, 2025, will apply to all Vivos CARE oral medical devices, which are FDA-cleared for treating moderate to severe OSA in both adults and children.

These new CPT® codes are expected to simplify insurance coverage and reimbursement processes for the Vivos CARE devices, broadening access to the company's airway remodeling technology.

This development is seen as a key step in helping more patients access effective treatment for OSA across various demographics.

Vivos believes that the new codes will support the company's efforts to expand its market presence and drive revenue growth, particularly in combination with its recent regulatory approvals and updated marketing and distribution strategy.

The AMA’s recent announcement of the CPT® 2025 updates highlighted 420 changes, including 270 new codes, 112 deletions, and 38 revisions.

These updates aim to improve the exchange of standardized medical information within the healthcare system, reflecting advances in medical technologies and practices.

The CPT® codes are a significant regulatory milestone for Vivos, complementing the company’s earlier achievement of Medicare coverage approval.

Vivos is committed to making its OSA treatments more accessible and affordable, with the introduction of these codes facilitating better insurance coverage, particularly for children aged 6 to 17.
