Vivalink Introduces Free Hospital-at-Home Starter Programme for Nonprofit Hospitals

16 October 2024

Vivalink, a provider of digital healthcare solutions, has introduced a new Hospital-at-Home (HaH) Starter Program for nonprofit hospitals in the U.S. The program is designed to help hospitals explore remote patient monitoring (RPM) solutions for acute home care, offering the service at no cost.

Hospital-at-home care is gaining popularity, supported by initiatives such as the CMS waiver from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Research shows that patients receiving hospital-level care at home tend to have better outcomes compared to traditional inpatient care.

According to CMS data, patients treated at home had lower mortality rates and fewer complications than those treated for similar conditions in hospitals.

The Vivalink program includes a full range of tools for remote patient monitoring. These include an FDA-approved wearable ECG patch that provides continuous monitoring of vital signs and heart activity, a clinician portal for monitoring multiple patients in real-time, and a mobile app for patients that offers easy setup and use. The package also includes training and ongoing support for hospital staff.

Launching a HaH program involves more than technology, requiring careful coordination across patient care and clinical operations. Vivalink aims to ease this process by eliminating financial barriers and offering a comprehensive set of tools for hospitals to deliver care at home.

In addition to its U.S. operations, Vivalink supports HaH programs internationally, including in Canada, Australia, and the UK, where it has obtained local regulatory clearances.
