Previously, healthcare providers had to log into separate portals or follow different workflows for each CGM manufacturer to review patient data. The process of documenting CGM data into the clinical workflow was also time-consuming.

This new integration eliminates the need for manual data syncing, extra logins, and managing multiple portals. Clinicians can now view patient CGM data and Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) reports directly within the EHR patient chart. The reports can also be saved with a single click, streamlining the process and saving valuable time.

This approach reduces the administrative burden on healthcare providers, allowing them to focus more on patient care.

The integration includes key features such as automatic data updates from device manufacturer clouds, the ability for clinical administrators to create customised programs with notifications for adherence concerns or data thresholds, and the automatic capture and documentation of data in patient charts.

The system also allows all care team members with access to a patient's chart to view the data, without requiring special portal permissions. In addition to Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre devices, the integration supports a range of leading CGM devices.

Approximately 30 million people in the US with diabetes could benefit from CGM devices, and many others are using over-the-counter CGMs to better understand their health. This advancement from Validic simplifies clinical workflows and has the potential to enhance patient outcomes by enabling more productive, data-driven consultations.
