Sun Nuclear® Solutions Supporting Better Patient Care in Focus at ASTRO 2023

30 September 2023

Sun Nuclear, a subsidiary of Mirion Medical (NYSE: MIR), will unveil exciting enhancements and additions to its extensive Quality Management lineup at the ASTRO Annual Meeting, taking place from October 1-3 in San Diego, California. Visitors to the Sun Nuclear booth (#1835) can expect to see new features and insights for the SunCHECK® Platform, expanded magnetic resonance (MR) capabilities for proven Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) Quality Assurance (QA) solutions, and the debut of the SIM+™ Pro laser system for precise patient alignment.

Comprehensive Quality Management in a Unified Platform: The SunCHECK software, available for live demonstrations at the Sun Nuclear booth, empowers Radiation Oncology teams to streamline Patient and Machine QA within a single platform, eliminating the need for multiple applications and databases. SunCHECK software also offers innovative workflow automation features, such as automated in-vivo monitoring of actual dosimetric data to detect and correct for anatomical changes throughout the treatment process. The recently launched SunCHECK version 4.2.1 introduces highly anticipated enhancements, including single sign-on (SSO) for simplified IT management, support for multiple CT-to-ED tables to enhance dose calculation accuracy, improved functionality for sharing custom templates and generating reports, and over 100 additional updates.

Expanded Solutions for Advanced Technologies: Making its debut at the ASTRO Meeting, the new SRS MapCHECK®-MR array and StereoPHAN™-MR system build on Sun Nuclear's film-less SRS QA and end-to-end commissioning capabilities, with hardware upgrades enabling dosimetry in the presence of strong magnetic fields. Additionally, the SIM+ Pro laser system, also new at ASTRO, delivers unmatched precision for PET/CT patient positioning and introduces remote adjustment capabilities.

For departments with stereotactic programs, the SunSCAN™ 3D Water Scanning System is designed to enable optimal scanning with SRS-class accuracy, featuring a unique Virtual Reference Detector™ feature. Daily demonstrations of this system will be conducted in booth #1835.

During the ASTRO Meeting, Sun Nuclear will host in-booth presentations discussing workflow enhancements tailored to support advanced treatment techniques, including motion management, SRS, MR-guided Radiotherapy (MRgRT), and more. On Monday, October 2nd, starting at 4:00 p.m., ASTRO and SROA attendees are invited to join for talks and refreshments during the Exhibitor Networking Reception.

"In demanding clinical settings, Radiation Oncology teams require solutions that facilitate efficient operations and deliver measurable productivity improvements. At ASTRO, we eagerly anticipate engaging with attendees to showcase how our proven, comprehensive Quality Management portfolio can simplify their workflows and enable the adoption and optimization of advanced techniques and technologies," remarked Luis Rivera, President of Sun Nuclear Radiation Therapy QA.

Additionally, Sun Nuclear will be present at the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators (SROA) Annual Meeting, located at booth 22.
