Shoulder Innovations, a leader in shoulder replacement technology, has announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted nine new patents over the past 18 months.

These patents significantly bolster the company's intellectual property portfolio and cover key innovations in shoulder replacement and minimally invasive surgical techniques. The newly granted patents include advances in glenoid preparation, total reverse shoulder systems, and porous coated convertible glenoids.

• Glenoid Preparation in a Single Step: This patent introduces a method for implanting a glenoid implant by reaming two cavities in one step.
• Total Reverse Shoulder Systems and Methods: This patent covers a reverse shoulder system featuring a scapular glenoid baseplate and a humeral stem with an angled baseplate axis relative to the stem.
• Porous Coated Convertible Glenoid: This patent involves components and methods for shoulder replacement using porous fixation rings, which allow for the transition between anatomic and reverse articulating surfaces without changing fixation components.
