Ricoh USA, Inc. and Kallisio have formed a partnership to manufacture and distribute Stentra™, a 510(k)-cleared, patient-specific oral stent designed to enhance radiation therapy for head and neck cancer (HNC) patients.
Developed using technology exclusively licensed from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Stentra™ is designed to protect healthy tissue by precisely displacing and immobilizing sensitive areas during radiation treatment.
This innovation aims to minimize side effects while improving overall treatment outcomes.
RICOH 3D for Healthcare, recognized for its expertise in manufacturing patient-specific medical devices, will utilize its network of FDA-registered 3D printing facilities to produce Stentra™, facilitating rapid and efficient distribution to radiation oncology teams nationwide.
Beginning in October, radiation oncologists will be able to order Stentra™ through RICOH 3D for Healthcare’s Clinical Applications Specialists, marking a significant advancement in personalized, patient-centered care.
The partnership is poised to enhance treatment precision and patient outcomes across the healthcare spectrum.
RICOH 3D for Healthcare and Kallisio will showcase Stentra™ at the ASTRO 2024 Annual Meeting, taking place from September 29 to October 2, 2024, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to visit Booth #801 for demonstrations of Stentra™ and to explore its applications in improving cancer care.
Attendees will also have the chance to engage with experts from both organizations regarding the benefits and implementation of this innovative device.
