PsychoGenics Inc. has secured a contract from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to explore and identify new investigational therapies for pain management.

The need for safe and effective pain treatments remains a significant public health issue, making the development of such therapies essential.

This initiative is funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) through the NIH Helping to End Addiction Long-term Initiative, known as the NIH HEAL Initiative.

The contract, which can be worth up to £80 million over a five-year period, is part of the NIH HEAL Initiative Preclinical Screening Platform for Pain (PSPP).

The contract’s aim is to address the urgent need for alternatives to opioids for the millions in the United States suffering from acute and chronic pain.

This five-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is supported by NINDS of the NIH under contract number
