Prevencio Secures U.S. Patent for Highly Accurate AI-Based Blood Test for Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease

25 July 2024

Prevencio, Inc., renowned for its AI-powered cardiovascular diagnostics, has received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its innovative blood test, HART CADhs.

This test evaluates the risk of obstructive coronary artery disease, also known as obstructive heart disease. The HART CADhs test leverages Prevencio's proprietary AI-driven HART platform.

The importance of this achievement, saying, “This patent marks the fourth for our AI-driven, multi-protein blood tests. We have several additional patents pending, which are critical for sustaining our competitive position.”

In research conducted with Massachusetts General Hospital, the HART CADhs test demonstrated a high accuracy rate of 86% AUC, outperforming traditional tests like exercise, echocardiography, and nuclear stress tests, which collectively had a 52% AUC.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death both in the U.S. and worldwide. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the U.S. allocates approximately $318 billion annually to cardiovascular disease and stroke, representing about 10% of the total $3.2 trillion spent on healthcare.

The AHA estimates that by 2030, 45% of U.S. adults will be affected by cardiovascular disease, with related healthcare costs exceeding $1 trillion.

“With the high costs and prevalence of cardiovascular disease, our precise and accessible HART blood tests are well-positioned to improve patient outcomes and lower healthcare expenses.”

Prevencio also offers the HART CVE test, which assesses the one-year risk of heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death. Both the HART CADhs and HART CVE tests are available to healthcare providers. For more details, visit Prevencio, Inc.

Prevencio utilizes AI technology to revolutionize blood tests for cardiovascular disease and develop custom diagnostics for various sectors, including diagnostic, medical device, and pharmaceutical companies. The company has created seven blood tests that enhance diagnostic precision and risk assessment.
