OASIS® Medical a renowned manufacturer and distributor of disposable surgical solutions and dry eye products such as Oasis TEARS® and SOFT PLUG® punctal plugs, is introducing the SOFT PLUG® Extended Duration 180-T Tapered Plug at booth 2675 during the ASCRS event in Boston. These innovative plugs feature a tapered design for easy insertion into the punctal opening, gradually expanding to effectively block the canaliculus. Made from degradable polydioxanone monofilament, they offer temporary relief for dry eye syndrome and related ocular surface diseases, degrading over approximately 180 days.

The SOFT PLUG® Extended Duration 180-T Tapered Plugs are intended to enhance the effectiveness of topical medications or lubricants, alleviate contact lens intolerance, manage dry eye post-ocular surgery, and assess the potential effectiveness of permanent occlusion. Each sterile pouch contains two plugs, allowing for placement in both canaliculi, with a reference number of 6210. They are packed in boxes containing 20 pouches, totaling 40 plugs.

This new addition to OASIS's dry eye solutions expands the range of punctal occlusion options available to eye care providers in the United States. While awaiting the CE mark, OASIS is actively pursuing the certification.
