New Eye Care Center Unveiled at University of Detroit Mercy's Novi Campus

University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) is proud to announce the opening of the Detroit Mercy Eye Institute in Novi, Michigan. Located at 41555 West 12 Mile Road, this new facility will begin serving patients on April 30, 2024. Over the course of two years, faculty, staff, and university leaders collaborated to develop programs and services tailored to the needs of the local community. President Donald B. Taylor views the institute as a tangible expression of UDM's Jesuit and Mercy mission, further expanding the university's healthcare presence in Southeast Michigan.

The Detroit Mercy Eye Institute will offer a comprehensive range of optometry services, including:

  • Comprehensive eye exams
  • Pediatric eye exams
  • Contact lens fittings, including multifocal lenses and lenses for astigmatism
  • Optical services, such as eyeglasses and contact lenses
  • Management of dry eye and red eye conditions
  • Cataract evaluations
  • Binocular vision and low vision assessments
  • Co-management of Lasik procedures

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the institute will provide diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment for various eye conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic-related eye problems. Additionally, the institute is committed to serving the community by offering affordable care to uninsured and vulnerable populations, in line with UDM's Jesuit and Mercy values.
