Mobile Heartbeat Expands Clinical Communication Network Options with Private 5G Support
11 September 2026
Mobile Heartbeat has expanded the connectivity options available for its Banyan clinical communication platform by adding support for private 5G networks.
The company has updated Banyan to operate across private 5G infrastructure as healthcare organisations explore alternatives to traditional Wi-Fi for their communications networks. Mobile Heartbeat also worked with healthcare technology partner Pixel Health to test Banyan in a private 5G environment.
The successful testing demonstrated that Banyan can operate reliably over private 5G networks, giving healthcare organisations greater flexibility when planning and modernising their communications infrastructure.
The collaboration with Pixel Health evaluated the platform’s performance within a private cellular environment and demonstrated how clinical communication systems can adapt to new connectivity models.
Healthcare organisations are increasingly assessing private cellular networks, neutral-host distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other connectivity technologies to improve network coverage across complex care environments. Private 5G can provide another option for supporting clinical communication across hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Mobile Heartbeat’s expanded private 5G support is part of its wider focus on flexible and resilient clinical communication technology. The company aims to help healthcare organisations modernise their network infrastructure while maintaining the communication workflows used by care teams.
