MEDICAL IP Signs Agreement with Africa Future Foundation for MEDIP Box Supply

20 July 2024

MEDICAL IP, a company specializing in AI-based digital twin solutions, announced a new supply agreement with the Africa Future Foundation (AFF) for its digital anatomy education tool, MEDIP Box. This collaboration aims to enhance medical education across Africa.

The agreement was formalized at a ceremony attended by key figures including MEDICAL IP CEO Sang Joon Park, Africa Future Foundation Chairman Choi Jae-gul, AFF CEO Soon Chul Hong, AFF Ambassador Han Gyeom Kim (Director of HiLab), and President Seung Hoon Yang of Eswatini Christian Medical University. The event highlighted the commitment of all parties to improving medical education.

As part of this partnership, MEDICAL IP will provide the MEDIP Box virtual anatomy education solution to Eswatini Christian Medical University. Beginning in August, this solution will be integrated into the university's curriculum following its export.

Traditional anatomy education, which relies on cadaver dissections, faces challenges such as supply shortages, ethical concerns, and logistical issues. MEDIP Box offers a modern alternative by providing detailed anatomical models—ranging from organs and muscles to microanatomy—through virtual reality. This innovative approach aims to address these challenges and enhance learning for students at Eswatini Christian Medical University.

The university, supported by the Africa Future Foundation, is focused on addressing healthcare challenges in Eswatini, a nation with a low average life expectancy of 31.8 years. The university has received approval from the Eswatini Higher Education Council (ESHEC) and is set to start classes in August 2024.

"They MEDIP Box, already in use at several leading medical institutions in Korea, is expanding into Africa. This collaboration with the Africa Future Foundation is a significant step towards overcoming infrastructure challenges and advancing medical education in regions with limited resources."

"They are pleased to support Eswatini with MEDIP Box, a top-notch medical education tool developed by MEDICAL IP. This partnership aligns with our mission to improve healthcare and education in Africa."

Established in 2007 and registered as a public benefit corporation, the Africa Future Foundation has engaged in numerous international development projects across 25 African countries, focusing on healthcare, education, and regional development.
