Maestro System by Moon Surgical Makes Global Debut at Surgeon's Point Surgery Centre
10 January 2025
Moon Surgical, a leader in laparoscopic surgical innovation, has announced that the first 20 patients have successfully undergone procedures at Surgeon's Point Surgery Center in Cedar Park, Texas, using the Maestro™ digital surgical assistant.
This marks the world’s first Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) to adopt the Maestro system. The initial procedures included cholecystectomy, gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, and lap band removal, all carried out by a team of skilled surgeons.
The Maestro system is designed to support surgical teams by streamlining procedures and improving consistency. Surgeons have praised the system for its reliability, ease of use, and ability to integrate smoothly into ASC workflows. By providing full control over instrumentation, Maestro enhances efficiency and predictability, optimising resource use and improving overall surgical economics.
Surgeon’s Point Surgery Center, which opened in January 2024, was founded with a commitment to providing high-quality care while offering greater flexibility to surgeons. The centre is part of HealthCrest Surgical Partners, a leader in surgical centre management.
Anne Osdoit, CEO of Moon Surgical, highlighted the significance of this achievement, which demonstrates the Maestro system’s commercial readiness and its potential to improve surgical practice in ASCs.
