This partnership involves joint ownership of Highpoint Health System, a regional health system currently under the ownership of Lifepoint Health. Highpoint Health System encompasses facilities such as Sumner Regional Medical Center, Sumner Station in Gallatin, Trousdale Medical Center in Hartsville, Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage, and over 15 affiliated clinics and care sites.

Through this strategic collaboration, the combined clinical expertise, best practices, and skilled healthcare professionals of both organizations will be harnessed to introduce innovative approaches that improve access to clinical programs and specialized care for patients and communities. Notably, this collaboration represents the second joint venture between Lifepoint Health and Ascension Saint Thomas, following their shared ownership of Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville.

Under the joint venture, the hospitals and care sites will be co-branded with Ascension Saint Thomas, with Lifepoint Health holding majority ownership and overseeing operations. Importantly, the existing leadership teams at each hospital will remain unchanged, and there are no anticipated significant workforce adjustments.
