Kno2®, a leader in healthcare communication, is set to launch Kno2 PreCheck™, a new solution aimed at transforming health information network data exchange with a focus on privacy.

Kno2 PreCheck allows healthcare organisations to efficiently locate patient data without the need to store protected health information (PHI) in centralised systems. This removes many of the issues associated with traditional Master Patient Index (MPI) and Record Location (RLS) technologies, which often involve storing sensitive patient data in centralised repositories, posing security risks.

Unlike other solutions that require organisations to store and share unnecessary patient information to participate, Kno2 PreCheck uses advanced cryptographic routing technology. This technology directs network traffic to the right participants without transmitting or storing PHI. Instead, only secure, hashed versions of certain patient demographic details are used to query relevant systems, ensuring that no sensitive data is shared or stored.

This zero-PHI-storage approach sets Kno2 PreCheck apart from other systems, offering a safer, more privacy-conscious alternative. By removing the need for PHI storage, Kno2 PreCheck helps healthcare organisations minimise compliance risks and operate with greater confidence.

The solution will be introduced in early 2025, as Kno2 continues to expand its network of electronic health record (EHR) vendors and supports its mission to improve healthcare communication.
