Huma Secures Over $80M in Series D Funding to Launch Novel Huma Cloud Platform with GenAI for Enhanced Digital-First Care

Huma Therapeutics, a prominent global healthcare AI company, has successfully concluded its Series D funding round, raising over $80 million and pushing its total funding to over $300 million.

This financial boost will accelerate the development and launch of digital health solutions through their new Huma Cloud Platform.

This platform facilitates the creation and deployment of regulated disease management tools across various therapeutic areas with features like no-code configuration, a library of pre-built modules, device connectivity, cloud-agnostic hosting, APIs, and the ability to host diagnostic and predictive AI algorithms.

The Series D round attracted investments from notable firms including AstraZeneca, Hat Technology Fund 4 by HAT SGR, HV Fund by Hitachi Ventures, and Leaps by Bayer, with HSBC Bank plc serving as the advisor.

The Huma Cloud Platform, now available for customers, is a comprehensive technology ecosystem designed to streamline and expedite the launch of digital health projects.

It includes a Software Development Kit (SDK) that speeds up the creation of new applications or integrates with existing solutions. In 2023, Huma reached a major milestone by becoming the first platform of its kind to secure FDA Class II, EU MDR Class IIb, and Saudi FDA Class C approvals.

This status enables rapid, code-free configuration and the hosting of AI/ML models, significantly reducing the cost, time, and risks associated with developing digital health solutions.

The Huma Cloud Platform allows pharmaceutical companies to efficiently deliver digital health solutions that emphasize predictive and proactive care. This platform supports the development of digital medicine, companion apps, and data collection tools, improving both the R&D and post-launch phases.

Huma’s technology is utilized in over 3,000 hospitals and clinics, engaging more than 35 million individuals and serving 1.8 million active users across 70 countries. In the U.S., Huma’s RPM product for respiratory conditions now covers 140,000 lives, contributing to the company’s significant revenue growth and paving the way for profitability this year.
