Huawei Accelerates Intelligent Healthcare with the Innovative Digital Medical Technology Solution

26 September 2023

Huawei hosted its inaugural Intelligent Healthcare Summit under the theme "Building a Digital Health Community to Accelerate Intelligent Healthcare." During the event, Huawei unveiled its Digital Medical Technology Solution aimed at advancing the healthcare industry's transformation towards intelligent healthcare.

Zhao Yixin, General Manager of the Education and Healthcare Industries in the Global Public Sector of Huawei, delivered a keynote address titled "Intelligence Reconstructs Future Healthcare, Innovation Strengthens Digital Health." Huawei's focus on healthcare intelligence underscores its commitment to transcending digital boundaries and fostering innovative, all-encompassing healthcare solutions to promote the high-quality development of the healthcare sector.

The Huawei Digital Medical Technology Solution is built on a unified architecture that leverages cloud computing, big data, and AI to enhance medical imaging services in hospitals globally. It boasts five key features: hospital-wide data convergence, multi-protocol and copy-free data transfer, lossless compression, SmartCache 2.0 AI prefetch, and video-network collaboration. With the ability to view over 1000 images and pathology slices in seconds, this solution not only conserves 30% of storage space but also reduces equipment room space usage by 70%. Additionally, it facilitates precise, efficient, and consistent image interpretation and diagnostic services.

The solution has already found success in the Longgang District Health Bureau's regional medical imaging platform project in Shenzhen, where it enables 12 district hospitals to seamlessly share medical image data, access imaging reports with a single click, and mutually recognize examination results. This effective utilization of data enhances patient care efficiency, and the rational distribution of regional imaging resources.

Huawei is continuously intensifying its efforts and investments in the field of intelligent healthcare. To date, the company has served more than 5,000 hospitals and research institutions across over 90 countries and regions, establishing partnerships with more than 3,300 ecosystem collaborators.
