HealtHIE Nevada has partnered with b.well Connected Health to launch HealthRecords Nevada, a consumer health app designed to give residents a central place to access, understand and share their health information.

The app is expected to launch in autumn and will extend HealtHIE Nevada’s statewide health information exchange infrastructure directly to consumers.

HealtHIE Nevada connects health information from more than 220 hospitals, clinics and health systems across Nevada, supporting millions of patient records. The network has traditionally enabled information exchange between healthcare providers and payers. Through the new partnership, residents will also be able to access connected health information through a consumer-facing platform.

HealthRecords Nevada combines HealtHIE Nevada’s health data connectivity with b.well’s consumer health technology. The platform will provide identity verification and secure account creation, allowing users to retrieve available records from participating healthcare providers and connected national health data networks.

Users will not need to maintain separate logins for each participating provider. The platform will also provide tools for managing health information sharing preferences within the available system capabilities.

The service is intended to provide residents with a broader view of their health history across different healthcare organisations. It will complement existing provider-specific patient portals, which will continue to support services such as appointment scheduling, prescription refills and bill payments.

The initiative is also aligned with wider efforts to improve consumer access to and control over health information. HealtHIE Nevada has committed to participating in the federal CMS Health Tech Ecosystem initiative as a data-sharing network. This supports efforts to make health information more accessible, portable and easier to use.

HealthRecords Nevada is designed to bring information from multiple participating providers and connected national networks into one consumer-facing environment. This could help residents view health records from organisations whose individual patient portals they may not have previously used.
