GE HealthCare to feature latest advancements in diagnostic accuracy and patient-centered breast care at SBI 2025 Breast Cancer Imaging Symposium
25 April 2025
GE HealthCare, a global leader in breast health technologies, is set to showcase its latest innovations at the 2025 Society of Breast Imaging Symposium. The event will be held in Colorado Springs, United States, from 24 to 27 April 2025. The focus will be on improving diagnostic accuracy, streamlining workflows, and supporting patient-centred breast care.
Among the highlights is the Pristina Via™ mammography system, part of the Senographe Pristina™ platform. This system is designed to offer a smoother experience for both radiologists and patients. It supports faster imaging, allows for simplified operation with zero-click acquisition, and reduces wait times between exposures. The system also features quick image-to-image cycle times and enables easier comparison with previous scans, even from other manufacturers. The Pristina 3D STD mode delivers one of the lowest radiation doses across major systems currently available.
GE HealthCare continues to work closely with DeepHealth Inc., an expert in AI-driven health informatics and a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. The collaboration supports the advancement and use of artificial intelligence in breast imaging. A key development from this partnership is the commercial rollout of SmartMammo™ in the United States. Approved for use with the Pristina system, SmartMammo integrates AI into the breast imaging workflow to improve accuracy and efficiency. It supports fast loading of images, real-time data display across different imaging types, and is compatible with existing IT systems.
SmartMammo also offers tools such as automated lesion detection and evaluation, which can be particularly helpful when screening diverse patient groups or women with dense breast tissue. When used alongside Pristina Via, it helps improve productivity for both technologists and radiologists.
Another featured technology is the Invenia™ Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) Premium. This is the first FDA-approved ultrasound system designed to support mammography in detecting cancer in dense breast tissue. Research in both the US and Europe shows that a significant percentage of women, especially in Asia, have dense breasts. Adding ABUS to routine mammography has been shown to increase cancer detection rates by over 35%. The latest version of Invenia ABUS includes AI tools such as Verisound™ AI and AI Assistant, which support consistent, faster scanning and image interpretation.
Also on display will be SenoBright™ HD, a contrast-enhanced mammography system. It reduces the impact of dense tissue on image clarity and enhances the visibility of tumours. Exams can be completed in under seven minutes, allowing faster diagnosis and helping reduce patient anxiety.
In addition, the Serena Bright™ biopsy solution will be featured. It uses contrast-enhanced mammography to guide biopsies, enabling the procedure to take place using the same imaging equipment and in a familiar setting, which can ease stress for patients.
GE HealthCare will present these and other personalised breast care solutions at booth #407 during the symposium.
