Doctronic Expands Into Paediatric Care With Acquisition of Summer Health

30 July 2026

Doctronic has expanded its AI-powered primary care platform into paediatric healthcare through the acquisition of Summer Health, a virtual, text-based paediatric care provider. The move supports the company’s strategy to build a comprehensive AI-native primary care platform that serves patients of all ages.

Founded in 2022, Summer Health has facilitated more than 100,000 paediatric consultations through its on-demand messaging service, providing parents with access to medical guidance on issues such as fever, feeding, sleep, medications and child development. The platform complements Doctronic’s AI-driven healthcare service, which has supported more than 30 million health interactions over the past two years.

The acquisition also strengthens Doctronic’s artificial intelligence capabilities by adding Summer Health’s repository of over 100,000 real-world paediatric text conversations. The dataset is expected to support the development of specialised AI models that better understand how parents describe symptoms and seek medical advice, improving the accuracy of paediatric care recommendations.

As part of the transaction, Summer Health founder and CEO Ellen DaSilva will join Doctronic as Senior Vice President of Partnerships, where she will lead the expansion of the company’s business-to-business healthcare offering.

By integrating physician expertise, conversational AI and paediatric clinical data, Doctronic aims to provide families with continuous access to affordable primary care from birth through adulthood using a single digital healthcare platform.
