Dexcom Expands Access to Glucose Biosensing with New Stelo Milestones

24 June 2026

Dexcom has announced several developments aimed at expanding access to glucose biosensing technology, including FDA clearance for paediatric use of its Stelo Glucose Biosensor and the launch of a redesigned Stelo mobile application in the United States.

The company revealed the updates during Aspen Ideas: Health, highlighting its efforts to make glucose monitoring more widely available and support preventive and personalised healthcare.

Earlier this month, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared Stelo for use by children aged two years and older who do not use insulin. Previously, the device was authorised only for adults aged 18 and above who were not using insulin.

The expanded indication is expected to increase access to glucose monitoring for children and adolescents, providing families with insights that may help support healthier lifestyle choices and improve awareness of metabolic health. The development comes as rates of Type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome continue to rise among younger populations in the United States.

Dexcom also announced that a redesigned Stelo app will begin rolling out in July for Apple iPhone and Android users in the US. The updated application is designed to make glucose information easier to understand and use, helping individuals monitor how factors such as diet, physical activity, sleep and stress affect their overall health.

In addition, the company confirmed plans to expand Stelo internationally. Launches are expected to begin later this year in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, with further expansion continuing through 2027.

The latest developments support Dexcom’s broader strategy of increasing access to glucose biosensing technology and providing more people with tools to better understand and manage their metabolic health.
