CooperCompanies Enhances CooperSurgical's Medical Device Range with Acquisition of obp Surgical
3 August 2024
CooperCompanies has acquired obp Surgical, a U.S.-based company known for its single-use, cordless surgical retractors and suction devices.
These retractors include integrated multi-LED light sources and dual smoke evacuation channels, while the suction devices feature a cordless radial LED light source.
Valued at approximately $100 million, the acquisition includes products that generated about $14.5 million in revenue over the past twelve months.
The impact on Cooper’s non-GAAP earnings per share is expected to be neutral in fiscal 2024, with potential accretion in subsequent years.
The ONETRAC™ line from obp Surgical, which consists of surgical retractors and suction devices, will complement CooperSurgical’s existing portfolio, which includes INSORB®, Lone Star®, and the Doppler Blood Flow Monitor.
The addition of these products is anticipated to enhance CooperSurgical’s offerings and provide a broader range of advanced surgical technologies to clinicians.
The acquired assets will be reported under the Office and Surgical category within the CooperSurgical business starting in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2024.
