ChristianaCare Teams Up with Emerus Holdings Inc. to Establish Trio of Community Hospitals in Southeastern Pennsylvania

28 February 2024

Imagine a hospital right in your neighborhood, offering exceptional care and easy access to top-quality emergency services, all tailored to your community's needs. ChristianaCare and Emerus Holdings Inc. share this vision as they prepare to launch three neighborhood hospitals across Pennsylvania in 2025. Today, they announced plans for two new hospitals in Delaware County, adding to the facility already in progress at ChristianaCare's West Grove Campus in southern Chester County. These hospitals mark a new era in healthcare delivery for southeastern Pennsylvania.

ChristianaCare's approach centers on providing precise care exactly where and when it's needed, with the right healthcare professionals for each patient. These neighborhood hospitals will operate around the clock, with approximately 10 inpatient beds and fully-equipped emergency departments capable of handling various urgent medical needs. They will also offer advanced diagnostic tools like ultrasound, CT scans, X-rays, and laboratory services. Additionally, ChristianaCare's extensive network of specialists and support services will be accessible through virtual consultations in specialties like neurology and cardiology.

Each location will also feature a health and wellness center, offering outpatient services tailored to the community's needs, including primary care, outpatient diagnostics, and specialty services. While specific locations for the Delaware County hospitals are yet to be finalized, all three facilities are scheduled to open in 2025, with the West Grove site leading the way.

ChristianaCare's partnership with Emerus Holdings Inc., a leader in developing and managing neighborhood hospitals nationwide, underscores their commitment to accessible and sustainable healthcare solutions. With experience operating 42 acute-care facilities across the country, Emerus brings valuable expertise to this partnership.

Having served southeastern Pennsylvania residents for years, ChristianaCare already operates primary care practices in Jennersville, West Grove, and Kennett Square, along with the comprehensive Concord Health Center in Chadds Ford. These facilities collectively cater to 25,000 residents, establishing ChristianaCare as a trusted medical home within these communities.
