Brij Medical Secures Innovative Technology Agreement for Non-Invasive Skin Closure Solutions with Premier, Inc.

18 December 2024

BRIJ Medical, Inc. has secured a national group purchasing agreement in the "non-invasive skin closure" category with Premier, Inc. This breakthrough technology agreement, effective from 15 December 2024, enables Premier members to access pre-negotiated pricing and terms for the Brijjit® BP-100 and BP-75 Force Modulating Tissue Bridges.

These agreements are part of Premier’s Breakthrough Technology programme, which recognises innovations that significantly improve patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.

The Brijjit Force Modulating Tissue Bridge offers a non-invasive method to reduce tension during incision closure, support wounds, and improve scar healing. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to traditional methods such as sutures, glues, staples, and tapes, while also eliminating the need for expensive dressings.

The product reduces operative time, being up to nine times faster than placing sutures. Data indicates it decreases wound breakdown by 90% and minimises complications such as open wounds and surgical site infections. Its hypoallergenic adhesive also lowers the risk of skin reactions and has been shown to reduce scar area by 38%.*

Premier, a prominent healthcare improvement company in the United States, works with two-thirds of healthcare providers across the country.

The organisation connects providers, suppliers, payers, and policymakers, offering solutions designed to enhance care quality, improve outcomes, and reduce costs.

Through its integrated data analytics, supply chain services, and consulting expertise, Premier supports the adoption of innovative technologies that improve healthcare delivery.

This agreement marks a significant advancement for BRIJ Medical, aligning with its mission to enhance surgical outcomes and patient recovery while streamlining procedures for healthcare professionals.
