Aurora Spine Corporation, a company specialising in medical devices designed to improve spinal surgery outcomes, has launched its new OSTEO ONYX™ lumbar fusion system.

This system incorporates Rough Surface Technology (RST) and is intended to provide improved treatment options for a wide range of spinal surgery patients, including those with osteopenia or osteoporosis.

The Hydra Osteo Onyx system, available for both open and minimally invasive surgeries, offers surgeons a choice of MIS screws ranging from 4.5mm to 10.5mm, allowing for personalised care across various patient profiles.

The system aims to enhance recovery times and patient satisfaction, especially for those with poor bone quality.

The first use of the Hydra Osteo Onyx MIS System in the United States was performed by Dr. Daniel Barba in San Diego, California.
