Anumana's AI-Powered ECG Technology for Low Ejection Fraction Recognised in CMS 2025 OPPS Final Rule, Increasing Access to Advanced Heart Care

6 November 2024

Anumana, a leading company in AI-driven health technology, has announced that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has included its low ejection fraction (LEF) ECG-AI™ technology in the 2025 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) final rule under assignment APC 5734.

This approval means that outpatient facilities will now be reimbursed for using Anumana’s ECG-AI service to detect LEF in adults at risk of heart failure, aiding the early identification of cardiac issues.

This new ruling is seen as a significant step forward for the wider adoption of Anumana’s ECG-AI technology, helping to reduce financial barriers and enabling its integration into regular healthcare routines. By doing so, it aims to improve outcomes for patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Anumana's ECG-AI™ technology, which was granted Category III CPT codes (0764T and 0765T) in 2023, uses advanced AI to enhance standard ECG data into a more effective tool for diagnosing cardiovascular health.

By identifying subtle patterns in ECGs that could signal underlying health problems, ECG-AI™ assists healthcare providers in making quicker, more accurate diagnoses, ultimately leading to better patient care.
