Amprion and Modality.AI Collaborate on Multimodal Assessment for Neurodegenerative Diseases

10 July 2026

Amprion and Modality.AI have announced a collaboration to explore how molecular biomarkers and AI-based digital assessments can be combined to improve the understanding and evaluation of neurodegenerative diseases.

The partnership brings together Amprion's seed amplification testing technology, which detects disease-specific misfolded proteins, and Modality.AI's browser-based Tina platform. The platform uses structured audio and video conversations to generate objective measures of speech, language, facial expressions, cognition and behaviour, helping to monitor disease progression.

The companies aim to improve patient characterisation and monitoring, support clinical research and create richer datasets for studies involving central nervous system (CNS) disorders.

The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on clinical research, observational studies and biopharmaceutical-sponsored programmes. By combining molecular biomarkers with digital assessments, the partners hope to improve patient stratification, reduce biological variability, monitor disease progression more effectively and support the development of future therapies.

The collaboration is expected to focus first on Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, multiple system atrophy (MSA), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other related neurodegenerative disorders.

The partnership reflects the growing use of multimodal approaches in neuroscience research, combining biological and functional data to provide a broader understanding of disease progression and support precision medicine.

Amprion will present its latest developments at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC), taking place from 12–15 July 2026 at ExCeL London in the United Kingdom, where the company will exhibit at booth 200.
