AbleNet, Inc. Expands Support to California Medi-Cal Clients with QuickTalker Freestyle Speech Device

2 August 2024

AbleNet, a leading provider of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities, has received approval from California Medicaid to support members through the Medi-Cal program.

Medi-Cal, which serves nearly 15 million residents in California, has now included AbleNet in its network.

This inclusion allows AbleNet to provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and speech devices to individuals with various conditions affecting verbal communication, including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, childhood apraxia of speech, and other impairments.

The approval means that over 21,000 speech-language pathologists (SLPs) across California will have access to AbleNet’s solutions. The updated policy is currently active.

AbleNet’s QuickTalker Freestyle, a versatile AAC device, supports individuals with speech impairments in communicating effectively.

The company offers a streamlined process, making communication tools available within as little as two days. For eligibility information, visit their website.

The inclusion in the Medi-Cal network aligns with AbleNet’s commitment to providing high-quality service and working with medical professionals to ensure timely access to speech devices for those in need.
