Medima Infusion System – Advanced Infusion Technology, Infusion Pumps

Medima Infusion System is unique, versatile and user-friendly modular system that can be created according to individual needs of infusion therapy. The family of syringe Infusion Pumps together with docking stations and new family of volumetric pumps very soon give the excellent possibility to create modern system that can be used in anesthesia, intensive care, neonatology and pain control.

The range of Infusion Pumps consists of the following models:

S – A base, very simple model operates in: ml/h, ml/min, ml/24h, ml+h and in continuous infusion mode only. Gives the possibility to enter and display up to 120 drug names.

S1 - this model allows infusion in many mass units: ng, µg, mg, µU, mU, U, kU, µmol, mmol, mol, / kg / min, h, 24h and operates in many advanced modes: continuous infusion, infusion with profile and intermittent infusion. Additionally allows recording drug library (up 120 drugs).

S2 - offers capabilities of model S1 and additionally enables to enter upper and lower, soft and hard limits for all infusion parameters in drug library to minimise medication errors and ensure overdose protection.

S-PCA - the pump is designed to improve management of acute pain. Syringe cover with lock and patient’s bolus button is provided. Additionally the pump offers capabilities of model S2.

The pump has got:

Large and legible display – information can be read from the distance of couple of metres, when passing by the patient’s bed (doctors like this very much),
Convenient automatic syringe loading system
Simple programming resembling to mobile phones’ operation, based on MENU system
Infusion in ml/h as well as in all the other units applied in medicine
Possibility of entering a drug library - doses procedures and not only names of medicines; maximally 120 names of medicines.
Long working period from accumulator (20 h when 5ml/h), short charging time – 5h, precise indicator of accumulator state – in %

Use of drug library has following advantages:

Quick programming of infusion parameters, selection of medicines from a list like in a telephone register
Less probability of making errors, once correctly proven and wrote procedure of dosage of medicine needs only confirmation or modification of parameters before infusion
No necessity to count dosage into ml/h – main source of errors,
Overdose protection; S2 pumps have a possibility of soft / hard limits inserting for all infusion parameters

Infusion Pumps

Infusion Pumps enable the download of pre-defined drug libraries and register full data concerning the infusion. The growing need to use an increasing number of medical equipment in direct vicinity of the patient demands special solutions. Comprehensive Medima solutions ensure adequate safety with pumps attachable to standard columns and stands and also suitable for docking stations (no dismantling or any additional elements are needed). Docked pumps establish automatic link with MedimaNet Server which allows monitoring current infusions, store data and link with the hospital information system. Medima’s Infusion pumps are also suitable for transport purposes. Medima offers two types of Infusion Pumps Syringe Infusion Pumps, Volumetric Infusion Pumps.

Medima’s Infusion Pumps use IV sets without silicon inlay. The use of original Medima sets guarantees high accuracy, even for very long infusions. In addition, the sets are equipped with automatic free flow blocking system to increase infusion safety; removable only when the blocking system is on.
